Hot tubs are enjoyable, but need some maintenance and occasional hot tub repair to keep them in running order. The most common sources of problems for the hot tub are with the filters, heater, motor and pump.

Filters get clogged and dirty and over time they become ineffective. This results in dirty water. A little maintenance will resolve and prevent this problem. Maintaining correct chemical balances will also keep the water cleaner longer. This is something the owner can easily do.

Most owners have experienced tears and holes in spa covers if they have owned one for a while. These and similar damage to vinyl accessories, ie, headrests, can be fixed with vinyl repair kits available in all pool accessory stores. Again, this is something an owner can usually do without help.

Electrical problems are more serious but before calling in the pro, check the easy things. If the water is chilled is the thermostat at the correct temperature? If these are correct then consider help. Most homeowners do not have the electrical meters and other tools necessary for these repairs. Trying to do the work on your own can lead to damage to those parts that are expensive to replace So, ask a professional for help if there are any questions.
