If you are looking for London recruitment it might be a good idea to start thinking about how you are going to handle potential interviews. It might seem a but presumptuous to start planning for an interview you might not even get asked to but it is always best to be prepared so when you do finally get the call you are good to go.

Here are a few interview tips that might just help you get that job:

• Before the interview do no smoke, chew gum, or eat garlic and spicy foods

• Wear appropriate interview clothes, in most cases this will be a suite or smart clothes.

• Bring a copy of your CV with you.

• Be punctual.

• Application forms that are given to you before an interview should be filled in and the information supplied should be accurate and match your CV and covering letter.

• Greet the interviewer by their last name and try to pronounce it correctly.

• Have a firm and confident handshake.

• Keep eye contact as much as you can and pay attention and look interested.

• Wait until the interviewer offer you a seat before you sit down.

• Emphasise your achievements.

• Always behave in an appropriate manor but if something out of your control should happen try to meet it with good grace and humour.

• Be enthusiastic and show this through your body language and your replies.

• Try to answer with more than a yes or no but don’t take to long or waffle.

• Do not complain about your current employer or work colleagues.

• Do not talk about politics or religion if the job is unrelated to either topic.

• Do not raise the subject of your wages during your first interview.
